- Prepare the patient for the action, tell them what the intention is.
- Take into account the possibilities and impossibilities of the patient.
- Verbally and non-verbally, encourage the patient to cooperate as much as possible.
- Avoid moving it only if the load requires too much effort.
- Make use of aids as much as possible.
- Make sure you have a good working height.
- Make sure you have enough work space.
- Make use of your own body weight.
- Pushing is better than pulling.
