Vulnerable employees may be at increased risk of contracting an infection or becoming more seriously ill. This may mean that additional protective measures are necessary.
Examples of vulnerable groups include:
- young employees (under 18 years of age)
- older employees (over 60 years of age)
- employees planning pregnancy, pregnant employees, and employees who are breastfeeding
- employees with compromised immune systems, for example due to medication use or other medical conditions
- employees with a disability
