Information

Targeted and repeated information helps employees to be aware of sleep, recovery and lifestyle. Put night work on the agenda structurally.

  • Organise targeted information moments. Invite an expert, for example a company doctor, lifestyle coach or sleep expert for a clinical lesson or workshop. Schedule these sessions at the time when the night workers can actually participate, such as at the beginning or end of their shift or make them available digitally.
  • Provide clear, understandable information about the impact of disruption of sleep-wake rhythm on your biological clock and health, the importance of sleep and recovery after night shifts, what is healthy food at night, sufficient exercise and mental balance.
  • Use visual assets: posters, infographics, or short videos.
  • Discuss the Goedenacht App during work meetings or during lean moments.
  • Make information available via intranet, digital signage or bulletin board in the break room.
  • Regularly discuss the theme of night work and 'being fit' in the team meeting. Use it as a starting point for an open dialogue about resilience and well-being.
  • Provide practical tips that employees can easily apply; For example, the importance of blackout curtains or avoiding caffeine after 2:00 a.m.
  • Share experience stories from colleagues or make an overview of do's and don'ts for night workers.
  • Be aware of what is on offer within your umc: think of lifestyle programs, sleep training or vitality checks.
  • Education is not a one-time action, but an ongoing process. Repetition, alignment with the target group and room for dialogue, ensure real impact.
