Pregnancy

Pregnant employees have a slightly increased risk of premature birth and miscarriage if they regularly work at night (NVAB guideline 'Pregnancy, postpartum period and work'). In accordance with the Working Hours Act and the collective labour agreement umc (Article 6.2.5), employees cannot be required to work evening and/or night shifts during pregnancy and for up to six months after giving birth.

If you want to become pregnant or are pregnant, healthy and safe working is extra important. You can use the preventive working conditions consultation hour of the company doctor for advice. For more information, see Pregnancy and work on Dokterhoe.
