Ergo coaches for prevention

Ergo coaches are employees with an extra responsibility for the prevention of physical strain in their department. They pay attention to lifting and the prevention of neck and shoulder complaints, among other things.

The name 'coach' indicates that they support, guide colleagues and keep the attention for physical strain warm. If you have any questions about physical strain, you can contact the ergo coach. The ergo coach is a point of contact, driver and motivator: together with the department management and colleagues, actions and activities are made less stressful or prevented altogether.

The ergo coach receives basic training and refresher courses to be well prepared for the activities. This takes into account the field of work, such as a care department, a laboratory, an office department or a facility service.

The ergo coach works together with the department management. Specialists from the field can play an important role in the success of the activities. The umc provides support from occupational health and safety services and HR departments.

If you want to become an ergo coach, please contact the occupational health and safety advisor at your umc.
