When conducting the working conditions policy, the employer records in writing in an inventory and evaluation, the risks that the work entails for the employees (Working Conditions Act, Article 5). This risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E) contains a description of the hazards, the risk mitigation measures and the risks for special categories of employees. Within the RI&E it is important to pay extra attention to the working conditions during the night shift and on-call duty. The UMCs have developed a special module for this purpose in the RI&E. This module can be used to include measures in the plan of action to reduce the risks. In addition to the standards from the Working Conditions Act and the Working Hours Act, the standards from the NVAB's Night Work and Health Directive also apply to the RI&E module night work and on-call services.
